Most important element of on-page optimization is “title”. It tells about your brand, business and your name. So, you should include either your brand name or your business name along with keywords in title. Title should be descriptive that may be able to describe your services. It should be short. It should contain a huge meaning about your product and brand. I already have discussed about title tag making tips in my previous post.
Title says everything about a web page or web site. In on-page optimization, you have to analysis about title for web pages. It is the name of a page by which the page is known. It is important part for any web site or webpage. Title should be unique and meaningful.
Many experts recommend that title should be less than 66 characters because search engines display only 66 characters in the searches. There are many sites which include more than 66 characters title.
Characters of Title in Search Engines Results:
You should include keywords in title. Title is the combination of keywords and key phrases. Title should be drawn from your page theme.
Before making a title you should analyze about keywords. You can use Google Trends tool. By this tool, you can know what keywords are the most searches and in which country.
After finding keywords, search them in Google and Yahoo. Now, find some top websites. Collect top 20 sites from both – Yahoo and Google. Now, analyze their title what keywords and key phrases have been used by them, what are their title, how much keywords are repeated in their site title, how meaningful title are their, how fresh are their page title etc.
After making a meaningful title go in Google box and put that in double column to check their uniqueness. For e.g. – “Title Tag Optimization – On the Practice of On-page Optimisation”. By this process you can find out that your site’s title is unique or not.
Make sure that your page title and Meta title should be same. You can use synonyms instead of repetition.
If your site title is duplicate, your page has no value in the eyes of search engines and as well as visitors. Search Engines place emphasis on the title for assessing the relevance of the content which is on the page.
